Experience
Attorney at Law - 1979 to Present
Engaged in the practice of law for 30 years, I have been a sole practitioner since 1980. My practice is best described as a general, civil practice with concentrations in business law, family law, real estate, and civil litigation.
Adjunct Professor of Law - since 1979
As an Adjunct Professor of Law at Lehigh University, I have taught each of the law courses offered by the University for both undergraduate and MBA (Masters in Business Administration) students as well as for students preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. These courses have included Introduction to Law, Business Law, Legal Environment of Business, and Legal Environment of Management. In addition, I have developed, written and taught a course specifically designed for graduate students in business, entitled Negotiating and Drafting a Contract.
Shoemaker-Kusko Test Preparation Services
Nothing teaches you more about the legal needs of a business than ownership and management of a business, and I have hands on experience as a partner and as a sole proprietor engaged in a small business. Started in 1979, Shoemaker-Kusko Test Preparation has helped thousands of high school and college students prepare for standardized tests including the PSAT, SAT, LSAT, GMAT, GRE, MCAT and DAT.
Real Estate Development
Since the 1980's, I have been involved in real estate ownership, management and development. These ventures have been in the form of general partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations. Projects have included apartment buildings, office buildings, retail shopping centers, and residential subdivisions throughout the Lehigh Valley.
